Episode 2 of a walk through the night...
Jeff knew how to love a lady. Yes! And he does it effortlessly. It’s more like he was born with it. Every woman needs a man that can make her laugh, every woman also needs a man that can tease them and flatter them even when they both know it’s not the truth. Take for instance an occasion, Jeff and Joan woke up one Saturday morning and Jeff was just staring at Joan; a suspicious kind of stare. Joan of course knew that Jeff was thinking about something and that he wants to say and at same time he wouldn’t until he is asked. So she looked at him for few seconds and said “ok! What’s it? Be out with it right now” holding his neck in a playful way. “What are you ruminating in your mind say it the way it is on your mind” in his usual way, he hesitated and laughed. The kind of laughter that makes you want to strangle the person laughing. Of course he has all the time on earth. It was a Saturday morning, no work and one of those few Saturdays Jeff didn’t have a training to attend. Such Saturdays, they will simply wake up, stay in bed till they become hungry. All they do was just cuddle, gist, laugh, kiss and make love. Joan had all the patience and allowed him choose when to answer her question. Something in her told her Jeff was about to tell her lies. Even at that she also felt its one of those lies she would love to hear though. “Ok” she continued. “I know it’s a lie you want to tell, just go ahead and tell it” “how would you even know it’s a lie when I have not even spoken a word” Jeff quarried. “Woman instinct, you will never understand that” she replied laughing really loud “we have bee married for almost two years now and I know the meaning of that smile. You see that smile, its increasing and now it’s gonna turn into a big laugh” she said and indeed Jeff laughed out rally loudly. “Ok, you win; I will say it and no painting. You look really amazing” “that one is true” she replied. “Which is the lie?” “you look more beautiful now than when you have had your bath and … “gerrout of here” she said laughing. “Come here she held him close and kissed him even deeper. “I love you from the earth to the moon and back” she mumbled. “All Jeff could say was “yea, I know and I also know that our love is forever” Jeff is also a good listener. He has the patience of a woman. Perhaps this is one of the reasons he has become an excellent leader. He listens actively and doesn’t judge or interrupt. A virtue many find interesting and scarce among men. This has been the frustration of many ladies. Their heart cry is to find a man that truly listens without showing his wisdom and knowledge and without trying to fix them and make them look foolish. They want to talk heart to heart with the man and its either he is fiddling his phone, or distracted by the television, or paying selective listening, or simply staring without hearing even a word. Not Jeff, he will listen to you, look at you, make some reassuring remarks that shows they are genuinely listening. Joan has always admired this quality even while they were dating. She has a lot of reasons she accepted Jeff but she could say that this ability of his will rank the top three. “I just feel like I can tell you anything and everything without fear of being judged foolish” she had told Jeff just three weeks after they first met in her school. Jeff had come to see his younger brother in their school. Jeff had met her in the super market where he branched to get few things for his kid brother. She was the cashier there and they got talking. Within ten minutes they had exchanged contacts. There and then something told Jeff he has found his wife. This was not to be confirmed until three years later when it was made official and legal.
